Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA-Surabaya State University together with Wisma Germany Surabaya City held the 2022 German Swiss Higher Education Fair (GSHEF) at the Prof. Auditorium. Leo Idra Ardiana, M.Pd, Faculty of Language and Arts (FBS), Lidah Wetan Campus, Surabaya on Sunday 18 September 2022.
This activity was attended by high school students, UNESA students and the general public. FBS Dean, Dr. Trisakti, M.Si said that this exhibition is a good opportunity for anyone who wants to continue their study journey.
“Take advantage of this activity as well as possible because it can be a means to achieve your dream to be able to study in Germany or Switzerland. Use this opportunity to ask deeper questions and get scholarships too,” he said.
Wisma Germany director, Mike Neuber said that this event has an important and high value in providing educational information in Germany and Switzerland. After the Covid-19 pandemic, this is the first time an annual event has been held at UNESA.
"With the hope that students who want to continue their studies in Germany and Switzerland can take the right steps to achieve their goals, whether it‘s studying or further study there or something else," he explained.
Neuber said that in the future Wisma Germany will expand projects with UNESA. "Any visitor, be it high school students or the general public, can go home feeling happy and can prepare for the needs of education in Germany and Switzerland," he added.
The chief executive and cultural program assistant, Dhahana Adi Pungkas said that this event was attended by ten organizations around the world including, Studienbrucke, Duisburg-Essen University, German Indonesia Foundation, Studienkolleg Indonesia, Studienkolleg Leipzig & Halle, SEE-UNI, DAAD, AFM , to Infopoint Deutsch.
This annual event aims to introduce German culture, education and economic cooperation to the Indonesian people. In this event, visitors had the opportunity to learn firsthand about Wisma German activities, German and Swiss culinary specialties. Also know the ways and paths of study and culture in the two countries.
Yemima, one of the participants from Yogyakarta said that with this exhibition, she said she was happy because she could be involved. “I got to know a little about the stages of each initial process until applying for lectures in Germany. Hopefully later that hope can come true," he said. [HUMAS UNESA]
